Third Suspicious Package Attributed to Ex-TSA Screener

The delivery prompted the latest evacuation of a TSA office

A TSA office near LAX was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after it received a suspicious package, believed to have been mailed by an ex-screener arrested for allegedly threatening the airport, according to the FBI.

The delivery to the Century Boulevard offices marks the third suspicious package attributed to Nna Alpha Onuoha, 29, officials said.

The first package was hand-delivered Tuesday and addressed to a TSA employee; the second arrived in the mail Wednesday at the Inglewood Veteran’s Facility, where Onuoha had been living.

Authorities responded to the offices about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday to evacuate employees.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the building has been evacuated and a perimeter has been established," the airport said in a statement. "The FBI and the LAPD Bomb Squad are on scene."

Officials said they are treating every package seriously, and expect more to be found.

The evacuation orders were lifted about 5:45 p.m. and workers were allowed to return to the building.

Portions of the airport have been evacuated multiple times in the last two days, workers said.

Onuoha allegedly made threats to terminals and left a suspicious package at the airport the same day he quit his job, the FBI announced early Wednesday. Authorities arrested Onuoah after he was found outside a church sitting in a minivan, its windows broken, that contained a large red cross and several letters.
