How to Avoid Traffic During President's LA Visit

It's an unavoidable truth that President Barack Obama's trip to LA on Wednesday will cause traffic tie-ups.

Avoid these areas to steer clear of the mess:

Wednesday, May 7:

  • The area around Motor Avenue and Pico Blvd. from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • The area around Pico Blvd. at Beverly Glen Blvd. from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • The area around Santa Monica Blvd and Beverly Glen Blvd. from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • The area around Sunset Blvd. and Beverly Glen Blvd. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The area around Santa Monica Blvd. and Avenue of the Stars from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Thursday, May 8:

  • The area around Santa Monica Blvd. and Avenue of the Stars from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

NOTE: As a result of a closure along Santa Monica Boulevard between Wilshire Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars, the following bus routes will be affected, riders should contact the MTA for alternate locations:
