One person was killed and another injured Wednesday morning in Buena Park when they were struck by a truck while trying to push a broken down car off the road.
The victim’s car stalled in the center lane just before 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Knott and N. Orangethorpe avenues. As the driver and a passenger pushed the car out of the intersection, they were clipped by a truck, according to the Buena Park Police Department.
The driver of the truck stopped and is cooperating with police.
Knott Avenue will remain closed between Caballero Boulevard and Orangethorpe Avenue until after 8 a.m. as officials investigate the collision.
The name of the victim was not immediately released.
