A 17-year-old boy who went missing from his Pacoima home Saturday after he stabbed himself in the hand with a knife during an argument with his family was found, officials said.

Luis Alberto Ortiz, who lives with his family on the 13700 block of Gain Street in Pacoima, was said to be "distraught" and may possibly be suicidal due to an undisclosed medical condition, according to a press release by the Los Angeles Police Department.

He was last seen riding a black BMX bicycle northbound on Bartee Avenue from Gain Street at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, officials said.

Ortiz is described as Hispanic, six feet tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities said Ortiz has a light complexion and a thin build and carries a scar on his stomach.

He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, yellow shorts and grey shoes, police said.
