Several Injured in Crash at Glendale Bus Stop

Several people were injured Friday afternoon when a car apparently crashed into a bus stop in Glendale.

The crash happened about 5 p.m. at a bus stop at the intersection of San Fernando Road and Sonora Avenue, according to Sgt. Daniel Fernandez of the Glendale Police Department.

A car that was in the parking lot of a 7-11 convenience store behind the bus stop apparently drove through hedges separating the lot from the sidewalk and struck several pedestrians waiting for the bus.

Witnesses said the pedestrians had their backs to the parking lot and didn't see the car coming and had no time to jump out of the way.

Six people were injured and four were taken to local hospitals. A child among the injured suffered an ankle injury, according to Glendale spokesman Dan Bell.

Glendale Fire Department also responded to the incident.
