A standoff in Silver Lake on Saturday night forced evacuations and a stretch of Sunset Boulevard to be shut down, but no one was arrested in the end, police said.
Officers responding to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon said a person had barricaded themselves in a home in the 3300 block of Hamilton Way, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Police initially reported detaining a male shortly before 9 p.m., but later said that he had been released and no crime had been committed.
Officials were investigating the initial report of an assault.
During the incident, six buildings in the surrounding area were evacuated and police blocked off both sides of Sunset Boulevard from Micheltorena Street to Westerly Terrace.
