Snowboarder Bandit Still on the Loose

After three months of being on the run, police are still looking for a man believed to have robbed seven banks in the Orange County area since December

Police are still looking for the bank robber, dubbed the "Snowboarder Bandit," who is suspected of robbing at least seven banks in the Orange County area since last December.

In each occasion the bandit walked into a bank, handed the teller a note, pulled out a plastic bag and walked out with an unknown amount of cash, according to officials.

"In some cases, he expressed to the teller he was armed, sometimes they believe he is, sometimes not, we have never seen a weapon," Sgt. Bob Dunn of the Anaheim Police Depart said.

The bandit last struck on Feb. 13 at the School's First Federal Credit Union on East Santa Canyon Road in Anaheim.

He is described as a white man in his mid-to-late 20s, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, weighing between 120 to 180 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.

The "Snowboarder Bandit" earned his nickname "because of his youthful appearance and ski-type clothing he wears during his robberies," according to a police news release.

Police suspect he is linked to other holdups in Irvine, Laguna Hills, Anaheim Hills, Ladera Ranch and Corona Del Mar.
