A driver of a stolen SUV was arrested after a high-speed pursuit and brief stand off in Montecito Heights on Saturday night.
The black Kia Sorento made its way on surface streets at speeds of 60 mph, weaving into opposite lanes, with sparks flying from a rear tire and South Gate police on its trail.
The driver stopped in the middle of a street in Montecito Heights a little after 10 p.m. and got into a standoff with officers. Minutes later, she got out of the car and officers rushed in with guns drawn to take her into custody.
