Authorities shut down both offramps on the 5 Freeway Monday night after a man was wounded during a car-to-car shooting, police said.
The shooting was reported around came in at 7:45 p.m. after officers responded to the 1600 block of Grismer Avenue where they found a 30-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to a news release from the Burbank Police Department.
The man was treated at the scene and transported to a hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, according to the Burbank Police Department.
Authorities spoke to several witnesses, which led them to the Burbank Boulevard Overpass where it was believed a car-to-car shooting occurred, according to the news release.
The suspected shooter was described as a man driving a black sedan, last seen driving westbound on the overpass, according to the news release.
Authorities shut down the Burbank Boulevard Overpass, a bridge over the Instate 5 Freeway, during the investigation.
Both freeway off ramps were reopened.
