Man Shot to Death Near Laundromat Parking Lot

A man was shot and killed near a laundromat parking lot Wednesday in Cudahy, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The male victim died at the scene at about 10 p.m. on the 8000 block of Wilcox Avenue in the city of Cudahy, located 10 miles south of Downtown Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department launched an hours-long investigation into the shooting death Thursday morning, but no information about the gunman was available. The victim was identified by police as a documented gang member.

People who said they were family members were weeping at the scene.

Police said a sedan pulled up as the victim crossed the laundromat parking lot. The passenger exited the front seat and fired multiple rounds at the victim, striking him in his upper body.

A neighbor who lives near the landromat told NBC4 that his mother heard three gunshots.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau Lieutenant Dolson at 323-890-5500.
