Lights, Camera, Delay…Light Banks Cause Suspension of Dodgers and Nationals.

Three separate light delays ended in the suspension of the Dodgers vs. Nationals game on Friday at Nationals Park.

It was an odd road game for the Dodgers in their first game back from the All-Star break on Friday at Nationals Park. After a two-run home run in the top of the 4th inning by Adrian Gonzalez, the lights went out on the third-base side of the stadium.

The first delay lasted an hour and 22 minutes before play was resumed, but less than an inning later, the bank of lights over the Dodgers dugout went out a second time, causing a second delay.

When the lights were finally turned back on, Dodgers' starter Mike Bolsinger did not return to the mound after the long break, and reliever Chin-Hui Tsao took over on the mound. Tsao immediately gave up a double to Nationals pitcher Tanner Roark, and then a two-run homer to Yunel Escobar to give the Nationals a 3-2 lead.

Minutes later that bank of lights went off again, and this time, the MLB suspended the game for good. The game is expected to resume on Saturday morning at around 1:00PM EST where the Dodgers and Nationals are expected to play a shortened double-header.

The game will resume in the Dodgers half of the top of the sixth inning as the Boys in Blue will trail 3-2. Not sure who will be pitching for the Dodgers in the bottom half of the sixth inning, but we will have the recap of the game and any other news for you here.
