Unholy Union: LA Galaxy Dominate Philadelphia 5-1 on Saturday

Gyasi Zardes had a goal and two assists as five different LA Galaxy players scored in the reigning MLS Cup Champions 5-1 romp over the Philadelphia Union on Saturday.

It took some time for the LA Galaxy to find their groove on Saturday, but once they did, they were unstoppable. Gyasi Zardes had a goal and two assists as five different LA Galaxy players scored in the reigning MLS Cup Champions 5-1 romp over the Philadelphia Union on Saturday.

Zardes flashed his All-Star forward form that has made him one of the rising stars of the United States Men's National Team as he appeared to be on another level compared to his competitors on the pitch at StubHub Center.

Baggio Husidic, Juninho, Stefan Ishizaki, and Sebastian Lletget also scored for the Galaxy who finally had the offensive explosion they've been waiting for after months of mediocrity and injuries.

Husidic opened up the scoring by banging home a rebound off the post that Zardes just missed by a few inches. 12 minutes later, Juninho struck and the Galaxy had a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

It's no surprise that the blowout comes on the heels of the team finally regaining their health as Jose Villarreal, Robbie Keane, Robbie Rogers and A.J. DeLaGarza all played on the pitch together for the first time this season.

C.J. Sapong scored in the 58th minute for Philadelphia, but by then the game was already out of reach.

The LA Galaxy collect an important three points as they try and rise up the rankings in the MLS Western Conference.
