Every year the Southern California Indian Center hosts the Southand’s largest Pow Wow. This year the event will be held on Saturday, July 31st and Sunday, August 1st on the Garden Grove High School Football Field (located at 11271 Stanford Avenue in Garden Grove, California).
The two-day Pow Wow features amazing pageantry with tribes represented from around the continent. Dancers, in colorful regalia, will take part in the Grand Entry and Gourd Dances and compete in such competitions as traditional, fancy, grass and jingle. Traditional drum music and time-honored songs accompany the dancers.
In addition to the ceremonial dancing, the event will also feature plenty of arts and crafts vendors, fry bread and Indian tacos.
