While in Texas from 2007-2011, she reported the weather in English and Spanish, including coverage of Hurricane Dolly in 2008. In 2012, she joined Denver's NBC station, KUSA-TV as a meteorologist of the station's weekday and weekend newscasts forecasting snowstorms, severe weather, and wildfires. There, she became one of the most familiar faces in the community.
De Leon received her Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University and earned her Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association.
Prior to her career as a meteorologist, De Leon was a member in a Regional Mexican band, spending much of her time on the road performing. In fact, her band La Onda received two Latin Billboard Music Awards. Even now, De Leon enjoys singing, but when she's home, she's spending time with her husband and three children exploring the Los Angeles area.
