Beneficial Bake Sale Warms the Cockles

Be-cookie-ed card tables, with table cloths gently flapping in the breeze. Friendly people sitting behind the tables taking dollar bills in exchange for little round discs of sugary yum. And the looking. So much looking. Do we want a blondie, a brownie, a peanut-butter fudge? The choices befuddle and beguile, equally.

There are few things as sweet -- in every way -- as a bake sale. And the No Cookie Left Behind bake sale, happening on Sunday, June 14 from 2-6PM at Scoops, brings with it extra frosting, extra joy, extra little sprinkly things on top -- we think they are called jimmies in certain parts? Yes, jimmies. More jimmies for everyone, we say.

Tasting Table reports Kiss My Bundt and Cake Monkey are just two of the bakeries scheduled to show at the benefit bake sale, which will offer buttery buys aplenty. We are, in fact, pretty confident even the most dedicated, know-everything biscuit buff will discover a new local favorite in the bunch.

The best bit: No Cookie Left Behind is helping raise funds, as it has done the last couple of years, for Share Our Strength, which is actively, and has been actively, fighting to banish hunger among children in the U.S. for a quarter century.
