CHP, Suspected Burglars Take High-Speed Road Trip Together

EL MONTE, Calif. -- Suspected burglars led police and CHP on a high speed chase over three freeways before they were arrested, police said Sunday.

Officers were sent to 9420 Telstar Ave. at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday in an industrial area of El Monte near the San Bernardino (10) Freeway, and saw three suspects run off, jump into a vehicle and speed away, said El Monte police Lt. Dan Burlingham. The men dropped computer equipment on the ground before they ran, according to a report by the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

The police gave chase as the suspect's vehicle sped onto the 10 Freeway, Burlingham said. The high-speed pursuit went on for 13 minutes and was ultimately turned over to the California Highway Patrol.

The suspects fled onto the San Gabriel River (605) and then the Foothill (210) freeways before CHP officers were able to stop them, the Tribune reported.

All three were arrested, Burlingham said, but their names were not released.
