ConstructionWatch: Koreatown's Solair Looking Very Aqua

It's been since July that we checked in on Solair, the 22-story luxury condo tower rising on Wilshire near the Wiltern Theater. Visually, the color of the exterior glass looks to be dead on with the aqua hue featured in the rendering. Nice work, everyone. The sales representative says the 186-unit building is a little more than 40 percent sold out (hard contracts, non-refundable deposits, she said). As for the retail component, there will be about 40,000 square feet of stores and shops (two stories); the sales representative says one of the latest tenants is a wine and cigar bar (there is also a bank, bakery, hair salon, and other stores planned), but the exact details on how the bar will operate (cigar bars are wretched things, no?) aren't finalized yet, according to the representative. Condos here start at about $700,000.
