Dance festival takes over Pasadena Convention Center to accommodate crowds

Join today’s dance culture February 21 with a full day of dance classes, workshops and showcase performances! The Pasadena Dance Festival provides something new to step out of your normal dance styles. Last year’s festival was so successful, additional space in the newly renovated Pasadena Convention Center will be used to accommodate the capacity crowds.

Beginners through professionals are invited to attend a wide variety of dance classes and workshops from 9:00am-6:30pm in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Dance worksphops include Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, Break Dancing, Belly Dancing, Argentine Tango and much more! Speaking of much more, check out the “Capoeira” workshop 2pm at the festival. Taught by dance instructor Amy (Catfox) Campion, Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that makes a ritual of movements from martial arts and games into expressive dance.

The highly anticipated Pasadena Dance Festival Concert caps off the day with a professional performance by some of the area’s top dance companies at 8:00pm on the main stage of the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Make a day of it or show up for the evening performance either way, if you love dancing don’t miss this one. Check out lineagedance.org for more info.
