Dr. John Plays Final Twilight Dance Night

The blues legend is headlining a night of free music on the Pier.

Bet the Pier shows'll be back, as they always are, so let's not get too sentimental.

Rather, it is time to send out summer, grandly, and the free Twilight Dance nights on the Santa Monica Pier, in a major way. How major? Dr. John-style major.

The eminent blues man will be the final headliner for the 2010 Twilight Dance nights; the date is Thursday, Sept. 2, time is 7 p.m. Dr. John has been much in the news lately, outside of his music-making; he played a Gulf Aid benefit concert in the spring, and has been a prominent and stalwart supporter of his hometown of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.

Dr. John will be joined on the Pier stage by the Final 911, and Eddie Baytos & The Nervis Brothers.
