Pantry Celebrates 85, Little Tokyo Denied Booze

WEST HOLLYWOOD—Last seen running the kitchen at the Luxe, word on the street is that Matthew Gladstone is finalizing a deal on a new West Hollywood space. It will be Italian-influenced and should be up and running by early summer. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN—Per Blogdowntown, the Original Pantry celebrated 85 years in the 24/7 business. The biggest change in those 85 years, or at least the last few? The Pantry now offers the morning menu all day. [BD]

BEVERLY CONNECTION—The Corner Bakery opened today, and it looks like the chain is off to a good start, with lunchtime lines extending out the door. [B+S]
 

DOWNTOWN—The ongoing story surrounding Little Tokyo Showgirls and its liquor license difficulties appears to be ending: "The California Court of Appeals has upheld a city ruling that prevents the selling of alcohol at Little Tokyo Showgirls, a strip club at Vignes and Commercial streets ... [The court] concluded that 'problems in existing bars support denial of additional permits in the area'" [Downtown News]
