We've established that anyone can pretty much eat, drink and/or snack for free just for voting tomorrow, even if it's illegal. Doesn't matter who you vote for (OK, yes, it really does), just keep that "I Voted!" sticker handy and you will be rewarded all over town. For those not into lining up for freebies, restaurants and bars are adding extra TVs, hosting viewing parties and encouraging you to drown your sorrow/nerves/joy with Election Night specials everywhere else. Here, then, the (almost) definitive list. Did we miss something? Drop us a note or add it in comments.
DOWNTOWN: Pitfire Pizza will have a three-course menu for $12.99, and voters can get a free bottle of a Obama or McCain-themed Jones Soda or Edison Ale draft beer. Offer is good at other locations (North Hollywood and Westwood Blvd.) [EaterWire]
EAGLE ROCK: Take 50% off the six to seven whites and reds that Colorado Wine Company will be pouring. [Thrillist]
MID-CITY: The Farmer's Daughter restaurant, Tart, is giving away a free dessert to all "I Voted!" sticker holders. No purchase necessary, but there will be discounted menu items throughout the day. [Thrillist]
CENTURY CITY: Oh, the Pink Taco. The Westfield mall eatery is doling out free a tequila shot (for those over 21) or three pink tacos (for those not) all day. [Thrillist]
CULVER CITY: Purchase an entrée at Beacon at the Helms Bakery complex and get a free dessert [EaterWire]
WEST HOLLYWOOD: Get free organic fries or fresh-baked cookies at O Burger with any burger order. [EaterWire]
STUDIO CITY: If you're not into the Starbucks thing (see below), Gail Silverton's (sister of Nancy) Gelato Bar will have free coffee for "I Voted!" stickers. Keeping it in the family, their nephew Andreas Krankl will have free mini panini sliders at Press Panini across the way. So..Nancy...free pizza? [lafoodblogging]
CHAIN FREEBIES: Start off with a free cup of Joe from Starbucks, coupled with a free star-shaped donut from any Krispy Kreme, and then to any Ben & Jerry's for a free scoop of ice cream. All Daily Grill locations are giving out free appetizers to voters, and happy hour will be expanded throughout the evening (bar only). Bless you, America. [EaterWire; Fast Food maven]
WATCHING: Not the first places you'd think of for watching election results, but Campanile, Spago and Melograno will all have extra TVs set up for viewing while dining. Caroline on Crack points us to viewing parties and specials at Akasha, The Abbey, Edison, and Blue on Blue at the Avalon hotel. Finally and most importantly, for those of you who don't have a house party or just want to join the fray, Eater will be watching the results at Delancey in Hollywood calming our "he's just gotta win...just GOTTA" nerves with martinis, pizza and more martinis. Everyone and anyone is welcome! [EaterWire]For more stories from Eater LA, go to la.eater.com.
