Legendary Los Angeles vintage and haute consignment outfit, Decades, has paired up with couture costume jewelry house Miriam Haskell on an upcoming statement jewelry design collaboration. Decades' owner/curater Cameron Silver worked with the designers at NY's Miriam Haskel to create an exclusive capsule collection, entitled Uptown/Downtown, which will launch at Decades boutiques and online in October, as well as select national retailers including Nordstrom just in time for the holidays.
The 24-piece collection of vintage-inspired pieces includes bracelets, earrings, rings and necklaces, all crafted from a mix of gilded Russian gold and gunmetal, with glass pearls, semi-precious quartz, and pyrite. The art Art-Deco feel of the collaboration is an updated take on Miriam Haskell’s signature vintage chains, handiwork, beading, and crystal work. Said Cameron Silver of the collaboration:
“Miriam Haskell is the foremost couture costume jeweler. Her impact and influence to American costume jewelry was as significant as Coco Chanel’s. I have always been intrigued by the concept of the modern woman’s perfect jewelry wardrobe of vintage, heirloom-like pieces. The chance to work with Miriam Haskell to develop such a fresh collection, while staying true to the brand’s DNA and integrity was the perfect opportunity to try and realize this concept and pay tribute to the Miriam Haskell brand.”
Price points for the Uptown/Downtown collection will range from $250 to $1,500.
