If you’ve decided that this summer is—finally, at long last—the summer that you take up surfing in earnest, you’re going to need a wetsuit. And although some surfers might look like they were born in neoprene, shopping for your first wetsuit doesn't have to be daunting.
The Feast San Diego stopped by Bird Rock Surf, which relocated to a 5,000-square-foot spot earlier this year, for some pointers. Here, assistant manager Scott Van Vugt tells us what to look for in a wetsuit, and why flowery details and a little bit of flair can actually do your surf session some good. Plus: Van Vugt shows us a sizing chart that makes stepping into a suit a snap.
