Every year, NBC4 Southern California presents the NBC4 Life Connected Award to a deserving individual in the community that demonstrates goodwill and the spirit of giving back.
This year NBC4 President and General Manager Steve Carlston presented the award to breast cancer survivor Joyce Green from the Cancer Support Community-Benjamin Center on November 6, 2014. Joyce has devoted her life to supporting individuals and their families struggling with cancer as well as helping raise funds for cancer research.
The NBC4 Life Connected Award is named for the station’s “Life Connected” series, which highlights the diverse landscape of Southern California and embraces community triumphs throughout the region.
Launched in 2012, “Life Connected” airs weekly on Sunday during the 11 p.m. newscast and on Monday News at Noon. The segments celebrate individuals who have come together to enhance the quality of life of others and overcome obstacles.
