On May 30 from 10 AM – 3 PM, Chef Robert Danhi leads another culinary tour of Little Saigon, a gastronomical wonderland in northern Orange County that’s home to a quarter-million Vietnamese-Americans.
Danhi is a Culinary Institute of America grad who’s specialized in Southeast Asian cuisine for over 20 years. He cooked at Ocean Avenue Seafood and Reed’s in Santa Monica before returning to CIA as an instructor. He founded Chef Danhi & Co. in 2005, focusing on R&D, brand consulting, recipe development, sales and marketing for food manufacturers, restaurants and educational organizations. He’s also the author of Southeast Asian Flavors—Adventures in Cooking the Foods of Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, & Singapore, a cookbook that was nominated for a James Beard award in 2009.
On May 30, Chef Danhi’s latest Little Saigon walking tour begins at a Vietnamese market and culminates with a cooking demo, with a multi-course lunch in between. Possible tastes include Vietnamese iced coffee (Café Sua Da), Imperial beef and pork soup (Bun Bo Hue), mango salad (Goi Xoai), Hue chicken salad (Goi Ga), corn with pork belly and scallions (Bap Va Thit Ba Roi) and Vietnamese style yogurt (Sua Chua). The tour costs $75 (all-inclusive) and is limited to 20 people), so RESERVE NOW.
