Bingo!
It’s as if a light bulb finally went on in Mike D’Antoni’s head.
The Lakers are on a three-game winning streak as they start the annual Grammys road trip Wednesday night in Phoenix, and it seems like they’ve finally figured out how to play a game built for their personnel.
Instead of trying to run constantly, they’ve slowed down and played a half-court game.
When you play a half-court game with the Lakers’ roster, which is constructed for the playoffs, you have a better chance to win.
And they’re better defensively.
Why? They’re no longer burning themselves out by running up and down the court at full speed.
Maybe D’Antoni’s got it.
