A suspicious package was located near the famous intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue in Hollywood on Tuesday afternoon.
One corner of the famous intersection was blocked off by police tape, and the suspicious package was located on the third floor of a balcony at the Hollywood and Highland Complex, per the Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Division Lt. Michael Ling.
The LAPD Bomb squad was deployed to investigate.
City News Service reported that a stretch of Highland Avenue was temporarily closed between Hollywood Boulevard and Franklin Avenue.
Ling said that the suspicious package turned out to be a backpack full of dirty clothes and trash. The lieutenant also stated that the knapsack had been at the location for about a week and a half.
The temporarly road closure was lifted before 5:30 p.m.
