The Vincent Thomas Bridge was closed for several hours Thursday due an individual who climbed the structure in San Pedro and threatened to jump, according to authorities.
Police and firefighters responded to the site at about 7 a.m.
The bridge remained closed early Thursday afternoon. Police asked drivers to avoid the area.
The 1,500-foot-long suspension bridge crosses Los Angeles Harbor and links San Pedro with Terminal Island.
