New MOCA Book for Kids

25 ARTISTS: There are many connections to be made between the wonder and creativity of childhood and what goes into, and on in, a museum. The Museum of Contemporary Art just released a new made-for-young-people book called "Breaking the Rules: What is Contemporary Art?" which not only gets those connections, but looks to strengthen and highlight them. Author Susan Goldman Rubin's book looks at the eye-swirling work of over two dozen artists, as well as the topic of what makes art art. This should definitely be a brain-expander for your 8- to 12-year-old young person. And for anyone of any age, really. LOOK INSIDE: Colorful pictures, colorful descriptions. "Breaking the Rules" is $14.95 at the MOCA Store.
