Portland Plaid Plates

STYLISH SUPPING: The signs of the on-set of summer are many. Wee nests high in trees. Jacaranda blossoms be-purpling lawns. And plastic red-and-white tablecloths covering the picnic tables of our parks. When we see that pattern, we're instantly happier, because it feels like a just-off-the-grill burger and some chips might be in our future. These plaid pretties might give us that arriving-at-the-picnic feeling all year long. But we'd definitely pull 'em out for summer. TIMELY TABLEWARE: We found 'em at the Curiosity Shoppe, four for $32. Thomas Paul made 'em. They're melamine. And you can stick 'em in the dishwasher, too.
