What You're Doing Tonight: Dec. 12

ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA: Dweezil Zappa has always been pretty awesome -- he even provided a voice for '90s cult cartoon fave "Duckman" -- so when he goes on tour to rock his famous dad's famous songs (famous dad=Frank Zappa), we applaud. His three nights at The Roxy coincide with the 35th anniversary of when his father played there. Chills. The Roxy, December 11-13, 8PM. 9009 W. Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood. 310-276-2222

WE KNOW YOU KNOW ALL OF "JESSIE'S GIRL": Rick Springfield ruled "General Hospital" and the pop charts back in the day -- in this case, the day is the early 1980s -- with a cool, steady gaze and tank tops that hung just so. We also liked "I've Done Everything for You." And "Don't Talk to Strangers." Yes, it's official: we can sing every lyric. Also on the bill: .38 Special. Good stuff. Friday, December 12, 8PM. $45-$55. Club Nokia, 800 W. Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles.

FILM FETISH NIGHT: Furries, those adults who don full-on furry costumes, not just on Halloween but as a way of life, have received much press lately. Photog Rick Castro directed a short film about the lifestyle entitled "Plushies & Furries," and joins the discussion -- surely, definitely to be riveting -- following the screening. American Cinematheque notes that this is an event for audiences 18 and older only. Friday, December 12, 7:30PM. The Egyptian Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood. 323-466-3456
