The Zagats pen an entire shill article for the Wall Street Journal on the myriad reasons why the dining industry—and we can assume, their eponymous guide—won't take a dive during an extended economic downturn. Among their reasons: more women are working and thus not cooking anymore, tax laws favor dining out, the Immigration Act of 1965 (yes really), "Better Alternative to Home" restaurants are flourishing (they love their BATHs!), and thanks to the Food Network, eating out has become a source of entertainment, like the movies during the Depression.
