You and Your Fancy Movie Wardrobe

It's fitting that the Hollywood Studio Collection Sale will be unfurling in the Oscar Room at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on October 10th-12th. After all, the very first Academy Awards happened right there back in 1929, and while we can't say if the sale will have any of the clothing worn from the films featured that night, it will have a lot.

And we mean A LOT. When any one sale goes for three days, and promises thousands of items, all with a cinematic tie-in, movie fans and clothes horses and everyone in-between best turn the phone off and tell pals to quit with the texting for two seconds for once.

What will be there: shirts and dresses and coats, of course, but also accessories and props. And while many of the items will have a tag identifying where it was used and when, there will be some marked "unidentified"; maybe you'll recognize where you saw it? On Brad Pitt's head or tush? Fingers crossed, et cetera.

Things to know: The starting price on the items is ten bucks. The beneficiary of the day is Childhelp; a portion of the money raised will go to the organization. And admission to the sale is $5.

And if you do find anything from that first Oscars ceremony, lucky you. We're picturing boas. A lot of boas back in the late '20s, right? We want them to come back. Or the stole (fake, natch).
