An intruder was shot and a security guard was stabbed in the face during a struggle at a Malibu mansion Friday, authorities said.
Just after 11 a.m., a security guard shot an intruder multiple times during a struggle at a home near Puesta del Sol and Encinal Canyon Road above Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department's Lost Hills Station.
The security guard was stabbed in the face during the struggle, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Both the intruder and security guard were taken to a local trauma center in critical condition. Their names have not been released.
Witnesses told reporters at the scene that a shirtless man apparently jumped over a wall of the private compound and was confronted by a security guard. When the man refused to leave, a struggle ensued.
It was unclear who owns the compound, which apparently includes several rental properties.
