Authorities Search for Two Men After Armed Bank Robbery in Brentwood

Authorities were searching for two robbers who stormed a bank Thursday in Brentwood and fled with cash.

The robbery occurred around 1:30 p.m. at OneWest Bank in the 1200 block of Wilshire Boulevard near Centinela Avenue, police said.

In surveillance video, one of the robbers could be seen walking towards a teller while holding a gun as the other jumps over a counter and opens a cash drawer.

The two fled with an unknown amount of cash.

The robbery happened midday in a very busy corridor. Police called the robbery a bold and brazen "takeover style" robbery.

One of the men appeared to be in his 20s, 5 feet 1 inch to 5 feet 3 inches tall,
with a thin build and wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, a light-colored tie,
dark-colored pants, a black baseball cap and glasses. Witnesses said he had a
soft voice.

The other man was described as in his 30s, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build and a shaven face. He wore a black long-sleeved shirt, dark-colored pants and a black visor.

The robbers may have driven away from the scene in a light-colored SUV.

The FBI asked the public to contact them with any information regarding the robbery.
