The driver of a big rig was trapped inside his vehicle after it went over the side of the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Lake View Terrace Wednesday morning and the crash prompted the closure of the Nos. 2, 3, and 4 lanes of the freeway until at least 5 a.m.
The crash occurred near the Osborne Street exit about 2:40 a.m. and damaged at least 60 feet of guardrail and a wall on the right side of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Paramedics and firefighters worked to free the trapped driver from the vehicle, the CHP said.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
