If a diehard Denny's lover were to have one complaint, it would be that the Grand Slam breakfast can't get to the table fast enough.
That's about to change.
The chain is launching a fast-food version of its diners dubbed Denny's Café, and according to the Fast Food Maven blog, meals will hit the table within 8 minutes of ordering.
How it works: Diners will order from a takeout counter and have their food brought to the table similar to the service found at Panera Bread or Corner Bakery. Denny's promises meals to be delivered to your table within 8 minutes of ordering. For those on the go, meals and drip coffee can be ordered for takeout. Coffee costs $1.85.
The first location is scheduled to open sometime next week in Orange at 133 S. Yorba St. (map).
As for the menu, expect the Denny's favorites. According to the company, "It's meant to be all things Denny's but in a smaller package."
A second location is planned for Livermore later this year, QSR Magazine reported.
