Hundreds at UC Santa Cruz Mourn Victims in Isla Vista Rampage

Hundreds of University of California, Santa Cruz students gathered Monday night for a vigil to mourn and remember six UC Santa Barbara students killed in a violent rampage Friday.

At the vigil, only distance separated students like Jocelyn Zacapa from the sadness on the Santa Barbara campus.

"It didn't hit me until coming here and listening to people talk and hearing names of the victims," Zacapa said.

Several students also cried with relief their loved ones survived.

At UC Santa Barbara, the resumption of classes the day after the Memorial Day holiday has been postponed until Wednesday.

Chancellor Henry Yang declared Tuesday "A Day of Mourning and Reflection," with students and faculty urged to come to campus and gather in Harder Stadium for a memorial at 4 p.m.
