Caught on Camera: Armed Robber Wanted After Dollar Store Heist

The subject wore a bandage on the left side of his neck during the stick-up

The public’s help is sought to find a man who tricked a Southern California dollar store clerk into thinking he was going to buy a soda then pulled out a gun and took all the money from the cash register.

The caught-on-camera attack happened Jan. 19 at the S & A Dollar Store located at 1042 W Rosecrans Ave. in Gardena (map), police said.

Wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black hat, a man walked into the store and headed toward the refrigerator where he grabbed a soda.

Surveillance footage shows the attacker approach the counter and hand the clerk money but when the clerk opens the register, the subject pulls out of a black semi-automatic handgun and points it at the clerk, demanding all the money in the register, police said.

He made off with the cash in an unknown direction.

The subject (pictured at right) is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s who was wearing a bandage on the left side of his neck when the stick-up occurred.
