‘Cowboy Gun Bandits' Sentenced to Decades in Prison for String of Robberies

Southern California prosecutors say two masked gunmen dubbed the "Cowboy Gun Bandits" who committed a string of armed robberies with an Old West pistol have been sentenced to decades in prison.

The Los Angeles Times reports Monday that Dominic Dorsey received a 40-year sentence and Reginald Bailey got 35 years. The men were also ordered last week to pay a share of $58,000 in restitution.

Both men were convicted in 2016 of 11 felony robbery and firearms counts.

Investigators say Dorsey and Bailey wielded a long-barrel Colt six-shooter while holding up gas stations and a bank across greater Los Angeles.

The newspaper says the revolver, believed to date from 1873, was never recovered.
