Firefighters Battle House Fire in South LA

Firefighters were trying to put out an early-morning house fire Friday that tore through a home in South Los Angeles.

The blaze was reported around 5:10 a.m. at a two-story home in the 900 block of West 74th Street near Vermont Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters said the fire began in the attic.

About 37 firefighters responded to the scene of the blaze.

Firefighters knocked down the blaze around 6 a.m.

The blaze took about 48 minutes to put out, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
