Firefighters Rescue Kittens From Drainpipe, Roof in Studio City

A resident called after hearing kitten cries in the apartment building

Firefighters saved some kittens trapped in a drainpipe and on a roof in Studio City Monday night before the young cats were reunited with their mother.

A resident called after hearing kitten cries in the apartment building on the 11000 block of Landale Street at around 10 p.m., a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said.

The rescuers were soon able find the three small kittens who were trapped in the pipes. They are believed to be just a couple of months old.

But the story was not over, as another firefighter located the mother cat and another pair of kittens located on the roof of the complex.

A fire captain said the kittens were taken to the East Valley Animal Shelter.
