Monsoonal moisture from Mexico and Arizona pulled up to the Los Angeles area by low pressure over Point Conception delivered rain, high wind gusts and a brief severe thunderstorm warning to the Lancaster area Saturday, and could bring back higher humidity and the chance for heavy rain and thunderstorms through Monday night, forecasters said.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 7:44 p.m. Saturday for Lancaster. It expired at 8:15 p.m.
Winds gusts were reported over 50 mph and there was some street flooding, according to the NWS.
The NWS reported a chance of thunderstorms, hail and flash flooding Sunday and Monday in areas of the Antelope, San Gabriel and San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys, and the Los Angeles Mountains.
Amounts of rain from these showers could range from a half-inch to 1 inch.
The monsoonal moisture also means higher daytime humidity of 30 to 50 percent through Monday evening.
Temperatures will also be higher, with a high of 93 degrees forecast for Lancaster on Sunday and 96 on Monday. Downtown Los Angeles is expected to have a high of 87 Sunday and Monday.

In Riverside County, heavy thunderstorms Saturday afternoon caused flash flooding on roads in the Colorado River Valley around Blythe where several washes overflowed and motorists were trapped, although they were later rescued.
Drivers were warned to turn around if they encounter flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
