Intersection Flooded After Pipe Bursts in Reseda

A pipe broke under a street in Reseda Wednesday and flooded an intersection, but a Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crew was beginning repairs, a utility spokeswoman said.

A report of street flooding and pavement disruption at 18740 Cohasset St. was called in to the Los Angeles Fire Department about 4 p.m., spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

Firefighters responded to the area of Cohasset Street and Rhea Avenue and then notified the LADWP, Humphrey said.

"We have a repair crew at the scene and they are beginning to dig up the pavement," utility spokeswoman Kim Hughes said. "We know it's a six-inch pipe that broke but we don't yet know how many customers the break has impacted."

Hughes said the utility doesn't yet know how long it will take to make the repairs.
