A 62-year-old kickboxing coach was arrested for lewd and lascivious acts with a child and sexual battery on Thursday, the West Covina Police Department said.
Eddie Ramirez from the Lab Dance Studio in West Covina was arrested in relation to alleged incidents in 2017 and 2018 involving juveniles who were Ramirez's kickboxing students.
"I'm very shocked to hear that," Javier Garcia, owner of Champions MMA in West Covina, said. "It's very sad."
Garcia added, "The mixed martial arts community is a small community, so whenever you hear something like that, it's sad for everybody."
Authorities believe there may more additional victims and would like to speak to anyone with information regarding additional victims or witnesses. If anyone has information that may assist in the investigation, they are encouraged to contact the West Covina Police Department at (626)939-8688.
