LAPD Crash Shuts Down Busy Westside Intersection

A crash involving a Los Angeles Police Department cruiser shut down a busy Westside intersection at the start of the Tuesday rush-hour commute.

LAPD officials said an officer was responding to a call about 4:20 p.m. when it was broadsided by a Toyota Prius at the intersection of Bundy Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard (map).

An officer suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to the hospital, officials said. Another officer riding in the cruiser was not injured.

It was unclear if anyone riding in the Prius was hurt.
