Latin Grammy Awards Street Party Hits L.A.

Los Felinos de la noche played at the Latin Grammy Street Party held at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument on Sunday. It was the fourth of five street concerts the Latin Grammys are holding around the U.S. Others were held in Chicago, Hialeah, Fla., and Union City, N.J.  The next concert will be held in Dallas, Texas.

It’s all designed, of course, to build interest in the musical award show that will be held in Houston on November 13 and broadcast live via Univision starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

As expected, the lines were long to get sponsors' giveaways, but the longest line was for the Fiesta Tour McDonald's 50-plus foot exhibit that had a walk-through display of Latin musician artifacts and memorabilia dating from the 1940's to the present.  Anna Lopez, 8, was in from Pomona with her grandmother, Corina, and together they toured the small museum on wheels. “I liked that the best," Ana said. "It was air-conditioned and cool inside.” Grandman nodded a "si."
