  • Green Line service between the Crenshaw and Redondo Beach stations will be suspended for two weeks, beginning Friday.

Green Line service between the Crenshaw and Redondo Beach stations will be suspended for two weeks, beginning Friday, to complete and activate the connection with the future Crenshaw/LAX light rail line, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced Wednesday.

The stations that will not have rail service are Hawthorne/Lennox, Aviation/LAX, Mariposa, El Segundo, Douglas and Redondo Beach. Work is expected to be completed by Jan. 20, according to Metro.

Metro bus shuttles will replace rail service between the Crenshaw station and Redondo Beach station and all stations in between. Regular Green Line service will remain between the Norwalk and Crenshaw stations, where passengers will transfer to buses to continue their trip.

Shuttle buses will run every six minutes during weekday peak periods and every 15 minutes during midday hours and weekends, according to Metro, which recommends that passengers allow extra time for their commutes.
