Malibu Canyon Road Reopens After Power Pole Crash

Malibu Canyon Road in Malibu reopened Saturday night after a driver struck a power pole and closed down the major thoroughfare for hours.

The traffic collision was reported on the road two miles north of the Pacific Coast Highway.

Southern California Edison said about 3,000 customers were in the dark for about three hours following the crash. Signal lights were out for several hours but were restored around 12:20 p.m. along the PCH at Crosscreek, Webb Way and Malibu Pier.

Southern California Edison and Caltrans responded to the power outage.

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were on scene assisting with the traffic headache.
