Man Arrested for Deadly Stabbing of Homeless Man in Hollywood

A man was in custody Tuesday on suspicion of fatally stabbing a homeless man in Hollywood, police reported.

The crime occurred about 1:15 a.m. Thursday in the 7500 block of Sunset Boulevard, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. Daryl Leon Hanson, 48, died at the scene.

On Monday, members of the FBI Fugitive Task Force arrested Spencer Jay Doland, 34, of Los Angeles, said LAPD Capt. Cory Palka.

Doland was booked on suspicion of murder, and was being held on $2 million bail, Palka said.

"Investigators reported that the suspect and victim had an unknown dispute, and that the suspect chased the victim and stabbed him in the back," Palka said.

Palka said the case would be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office for filing consideration on Wednesday.
